SM Entertainment is a giant in the K-Pop industry that never fails to amaze fans with its groundbreaking talent and innovative concepts. The label has produced numerous stars such as Girls Generation, SHINee, Red Velvet or NCT. This year, SM revealed plans to debut a brand-new boy group and finally followed up with the first details today. On top of that, the SM girl group Aespa is planning a comeback!
These exciting announcements have undoubtedly sparked great anticipation among K-Pop fans all over the world.
The new boy group is called “RIIZE” and will step into the spotlight in September!

The name “RIIZE” is a combination of the English words “RISE” (to ascend) and “REALIZE” (to make something real/ put into action). It means that the group will rise together and realize their dreams. In a statement, SM confidently explains that the group consists of seven members who are both talented and good-looking.
While fans eagerly await the official introduction of the members, there is plenty of speculation about the group’s musical style and concept. SM classifies RIIZE under an independent genre called “emotional pop”, in which the members express their various emotions through music.
SM Entertainment, known for its pioneering approach to music, is expected to push boundaries with RIIZE’s debut and redefine the K-Pop genre once again.

The official Instagram account will already open on August 1 at 0:00, so we surely won’t have to wait much longer to get to know the members. Maybe there will be some familiar faces too?
In May, SM Entertainment announced that Sungchan and Shotaro have left NCT and will debut in a new boy group this year. This can really only be RIIZE. Are you looking forward to seeing the two of them again?
RIIZE is the first new SM group since Aespa’s debut in November 2020 and the first boy group since NCT in 2016.
While fans celebrate the upcoming debut of RIIZE, another sensation from SM Entertainment is getting ready to conquer the charts once again:

Aespa, the innovative girl group known for their virtual avatars and captivating performances, has announced their return with a new single called "Better Things". On Twitter you can already find the first colorful teasers hinting at a summery concept.
The single follows almost three months after the release of the third mini album “My World”, including the title track “Spicy”.
It continued Aespa’s streak of success and topped, among others, the Korean Circle Album Chart. In just two weeks, more than two million copies were sold, and the album also made its mark on the US charts. “My World” topped the Billboard World Album and Top Album Sales charts and reached number 9 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Fans obviously can’t get enough of the song, because the music video has been viewed over 99 million times in the just under two months since its release! Currently (July 31, 2023, 10:50) it stands at 99,544,175 views. How long do you think it will take until Aespa breaks the 100 million mark?
“Better Things” will be released on August 18 at midnight!
