Things are moving fast: just three weeks ago, BTS Jungkook made his solo debut with the digital single ‘Seven’, and now his bandmate is getting ready to step into the spotlight: Kim Taehyung, known to fans worldwide by his stage name “V”, announced his first solo album “Layover” today and revealed details right away!
The album will be released on September 8.
“Layover” is a mini album with six songs, which Big Hit has already briefly previewed on Weverse:
V blends his voice with the sound of rain in "Rainy Days", delivers an old-school twist in "Blue", shows off a captivating R&B vibe in "Love Me Again" and highlights the romantic soul style of the 70s in the title track "Slow Dancing". The album also includes the pop R&B song "For Us" and a piano version of "Slow Dancing".
And the best part: there will be a separate music video for every song! V's solo album is already promising to be a highlight of the year!
And you can bring this highlight home very soon: V has already revealed four different versions, which you can pre-order from today. Almost all versions are also available with an additional Weverse Gift. Read to the end so you don't miss anything!
The three standard versions kick things off: VER. 1 (Green), VER. 2 (Blue) and VER. 3 (Purple)

At first glance they look very similar, but as you will see, they are quite varied. Each version comes in a brown box that looks like a package.
When you open this package, you will find, among other things, two photobooks. Photobook A with 124 pages and Photobook B with 20 pages. Photobook A differs in each version and always has different photos to offer, while Photobook B is always the same. In addition, you get a lyrics book, a CD, a checklist with 100 pages and a letter. These contents are also the same in all three versions.
But the postcards, the photocards and the poster are different! Each album contains two postcards, five photocards and one poster. Nothing is left to chance here, because you get the complete set of both the postcards and the photocards.
Anyone who buys the set with all three versions gets 15 different photocards, six different postcards and three different posters. A dream for every collector!
Will you get the set?
Alternatively, you can also find the + Weverse Gift variant separately in our shop.
There, with each individual album you get one of three possible transparent card holders.
It is especially worth getting all three versions here, because anyone who chooses the set gets not only all three transparent card holders, but also one of two photocards and one of two hologram photo frames!
Before you go, you should take a look at the Weverse Albums Version:
Buyers of the Weverse Albums Version also get a box, even if it is quite a bit smaller than the standard versions. It contains a 64-page photobook, a 16-page lyrics book, a photocard set and a QR card. The photocard set here also consists of five cards.

The QR card of course mainly shows the QR code, which you can use to access digital content such as the songs. A dog's face is printed on the QR card and on the box. It is none other than V’s own dog Yeontan!
Yeontan also makes an appearance here and there in the photobooks. Overall, V looks very relaxed and at ease in the photos we can see in the album preview. The singer rarely shows himself like this in the photobooks of BTS albums. That makes Layover even more of a highlight in your collection!
If you want to have all four variants, you should take a look at the set + Weverse Gift.
It includes the three standard versions and the Weverse Albums Version.
You also get a few exclusive Weverse Gifts:
Three transparent card holders, one of two photocards, one of two hologram photo frames, one photocard L-holder and one of two transparent photocards.
Don't wait too long if you want to secure all these extras!
It is still almost a month away, but V will surely release plenty more teasers in the coming weeks to sweeten the wait for us. We can hardly wait!
V is only now making his official solo debut, but over the past years the singer has already presented us with his own songs quite often:
These include covers such as his interpretation of “Someone Like You” (Adele) or soundtracks such as “Sweet Night” for the K-drama Itaewon Class.
In addition, like his bandmates, V has already released solo songs on BTS albums. One example is “Singularity” on the BTS album “Love Yourself: Tear”.
V enchants fans in all of these works with his deep voice and makes them want more. A solo album of his own is long overdue!
