BIOGRAPHY

Danielle Marsh was born on April 11, 2005, in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, to an Australian father (Andrew Marsh) and a South Korean mother (Mo Ji-won). She has an older sister, Olivia Marsh, who was born in 2000.

In 2008, Danielle moved to South Korea with her family, where she lived until 2012. During this time, she attended Munsan Elementary School and began her career as a child model and TV personality under her Korean name, Mo Ji-hye. She appeared in numerous commercials and children's shows such as Rainbow Kindergarten, Ding Dong Dang Kindergarten, and Jesse's Play Kitchen, and won several awards at modeling competitions in 2011.

In 2014, Hanni showcased her talent on The Voice Kids Australia, where she sang a song by One Direction, one of her favorite bands.

In 2012, Danielle returned to Australia and continued her schooling there. In 2016, she took part in the Australian production of the Matilda musical, and in 2018 she won the audience award at the Young Artist Festival in Sydney, singing “Sitting On Top of the World” by Delta Goodrem.

In 2020, Danielle auditioned for HYBE with a cover of “Best Part” by Daniel Caesar and was accepted as a trainee at Source Music, before moving to the subsidiary label ADOR at the end of 2021.

Danielle is the group's middle member

In 2022, Danielle debuted as a member of NewJeans, a five-member group under ADOR, alongside Minji, Hanni, Haerin, and Hyein, with the song Attention. She quickly gained attention for her charisma, which was often compared to that of a high school star or a Disney princess. Her unique combination of Eurasian features, cheerful personality, and fluent English further boosted her popularity. Korean media also compared her looks to those of actress Kim Yoo Jung.

In May 2023, Danielle was cast as Ariel for the Korean dub of the live-action version of Disney's “The Little Mermaid.” She contributed two songs to the film's Korean soundtrack: “Part of Your World” and “For The First Time,” showcasing her vocal talent and further boosting her growing popularity.
